Employment Tribunals
I provide full conduct of Employment Tribunal cases, including all advocacy in the Tribunal, covering all categories of cases - e.g. unfair dismissal, discrimination, unlawful deductions etc.
Redundancy Programmes
I provide advice on redundancy procedures, for example to Vauxhall regarding the closure of its Luton Plant in 2002, which involved the loss of around 3,000 jobs.
Disciplinary Procedures and Dismissals
I provide advice on disciplinary procedures, including drafting the procedures themselves, and drafting warning and dismissal letters, in relation to conduct, capability and other dismissals.
Sickness Procedures
I can draft procedures for employers to deal with employees on long term and intermittent absences, and also placement procedures to enable employers to deal with disabled employees in compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act.
Compromise Agreements
I will draft and negotiate compromise agreements on termination of employment.
TUPE
I provide advice on the effect of TUPE, particularly in outsourcing and re-sourcing situations, including drafting appropriate clauses in outsourcing agreements.
Works Councils
I have drafted and negotiated a number of works council agreements. For example I provided all the drafting and legal advice, as well as participating in the negotiations relating to the creation of the GM European Works Councils.
I will also advise on the processes to be adopted in complying with the UK Information and Consultation Regulations (National Works Councils).
Contracts of Employment and Particulars of Terms
I will provide contracts for hourly and management employees including at director level.
Industrial Disputes
I will provide advice regarding industrial disputes, guiding employers through the procedures to be followed when industrial action is threatened and actioned.
Trade Unions - Collective Agreements
I will provide advice on the laws affecting an employer’s relationship with trades unions, including the recognition procedure, and the drafting and negotiation of collective agreements.
Working Time Regulations
I will provide advice on the effect of the regulations, including the development of policies, and the drafting of opt out letters and other communications necessary as a result of the regulations.
Maternity, paternity, parental and other types of statutory leave
I will provide advice on the effect of legal rights of employees and employers with regard to statutory leave.
Data Protection
I will advice enabling employers to comply with the law as it applies to employers.
New Laws
I provide email updates free of charge as new laws, cases and developments arise, and give presentations to clients on the content and effects of the new laws generally, and how they will affect that particular client. Click here to subscribe.
As a sole practitioner I can provide consistent care and attention to my clients, and am able to gain the fullest possible understanding of the client’s employment law needs. I am always available by phone, mobile phone, email and to visit the client whenever I am called upon.
